The challenge

The group was in international arbitration with a former partner, who was feeding unflattering stories to European trade press. The client was simultaneously seeking financing for a new port project from European lenders, who were starting to ask questions.

Our approach

We audited what had been published and separated fair criticism from misleading claims. With the group's lawyers, we built a clear factual record and an English-language project site setting out its environmental, labour and governance standards.

We arranged 12 private briefings with trade journalists and lender advisers, and prepared the family's second generation to speak for the business in English for the first time.

The outcome

The misleading claims stopped appearing in new coverage. Lender due diligence closed without further communications queries, and financing was approved.

We had always let our work speak for itself. Parley showed us that isn't enough any more.
